ABOUT MARCUS
Marcus was born and raised in the musical heartland of Nashville, Tennessee, a city brimming with an incredible variety of genres.
Growing up in this vibrant place, it was impossible for Marcus not to be influenced by the rich history and diverse sounds that resonated throughout the city. Although Nashville is often associated with country and bluegrass music, it was the essence of the blues that truly captured Marcus's soul.
“I was struck by the raw emotions and soulful melodies of the blues from an early age. It was through the mournful wail of the trumpet that I discovered a language beyond words, a means to express the depths of the human experience.”
From an early age, Marcus was exposed to the captivating sounds of blues legends such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Howlin' Wolf. He would spend countless evenings listening to his father's vinyl records, completely entranced by the emotional depth and raw power of the blues. Nashville's strong roots in blues music provided Marcus with a solid foundation, inspiring him to pick up an old guitar and begin creating his own soulful melodies.
In addition to the vast musical heritage, Nashville's musical community nurtured Marcus's passion for the blues. He found himself surrounded by talented musicians who shared his love for this genre.
Local jam sessions and blues clubs became Marcus's second home, where he honed his skills and learned from experienced artists who generously shared their knowledge. The city's supportive atmosphere encouraged Marcus to take risks, push the boundaries of his music, and let his passion for the blues shine through.
